Quick side-story – One day recently I became board and frustrated. I was struggling with “Photographers Block”. I had recently puchased this book on the History of Magic by David Cooperfield. I performed magic as a kid so this was a fun purchase. My way of going back 50 years and capturing that excitement again. The book sat on my coffee table. While in my “lack of creativity” zone, the book caught my eye. I asked myself, “what do I still have boxed up from my days of prestigititation?” (look it up). So, I found my box of props. I still had my Linking Rings, Chop Cup, Wand, and a few other peices I could throw in. It was time for a table-top Still-life shoot. It turned out to be one of my better sessions. When I look at what came out of that crappy day, I chuckle a little, because on the rare instances I feel that way, I know it won’t last long. Some reach for a pill, some reach for a drink, some reach for a Hostess Ding Dong (guilty on this), I reach for my camera and some good light.
